SWING at Victory Field

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) —Victory Field traded game jerseys for 1930s-inspired flair as the Indianapolis Indians hosted the fourth annual Swing at Victory Field, featuring live music, craft cocktails and community support.

Ryan Stevens, director of communications for the Indians, said the evening powers the team’s year-round outreach.

“All the proceeds, all the funding we’re able to generate tonight go directly back to Indianapolis Indians Charities,” Stevens said. “That’s really the engine that drives everything that we can do throughout the community throughout the year, whether it’s grant recipients or field revitalization projects. It’s nights like these with all our community partners, corporate sponsors, and season ticket holders. It’s a way to say thank you for everything this year, but also to look forward to the next year.”

Stevens said the event puts the community at the heart of the ballpark.

“I think everybody knows what goes on on the field here, but to have the community here to help generate interest for all the community initiatives on the field, that’s what this night’s about,” he said.

Guests also received a rare view from the diamond.

“We’re standing on second base right now. Not many people get to see second base,” Stevens said. “You turn around, you’ve got all the different cocktail and food options here. If you’ve gone to eat in downtown Indianapolis, you probably have that option here tonight.”

The throwback celebration blended skyline views, live music, and classic Indianapolis flavors, all while raising funds to keep the Indians’ charitable work moving forward.
