CHARLOTTE, N.C. – We’re two weeks away from Election Day and early voting is trending way up compared to the 2022 midterms. More than 70,000 people in Mecklenburg County have already cast their ballot over the first five days of early voting. That’s compared to just over 42,000 at the same time in 2022. The busiest of the 25 early voting sites is the former University City Library.
Early voter James Watson says, “I think people are voting more early (sic) now because things are really going in the wrong direction and it makes a difference when you get out and vote.” And early voter Diana Grier says, “I don’t care who you are. I don’t care how old you are, please go and vote because it will make a difference.”
The last day for early voting in both North and South Carolina is Saturday, October 31st.
