INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Colts cornerback Charvarius Ward announced on Wednesday that his second baby boy, Chosen Mani Ward, was born on Monday morning.
Chosen’s middle name, Mani, is named after his late daughter, Amani. Amani died in October 2024. She was just one-years-old.
He said Chosen is breathing well on his own. Ward’s wife and his baby boy will be discharged from the hospital later on Wednesday.
Ward said it was definitely a relief that his son was born before the trip to London. He said it will be super hard to leave his family though.
“I just had like 10 hours of sleep in the past three days, for real, so I’m super tired right now,” Ward said. “I got to get some sleep on the plane on the ride over there.”
Ward’s wife was at the game on Sunday, where the Colts got their first win of the season against the Houston Texans. Ward said it was his wife’s first game she went to this season.
“I’m just trying to ball for my kids,” Ward said. “Give them something to be proud of.”
Charvarius Ward’s oldest son, Charvarius Ward Jr., is near his second birthday.
